Ecofriendly cleaning service thrives in tough economy

Most homeowners can do housecleaning themselves, and they do not need an external agency for this, which is considered a luxury these days. But despite all the reasons Greg Wheaton’s cleaning service should fail, it is growing faster than a toddler can paint a kitchen with peanut butter.

Wheaton’s Schaumburg-based company, Green Lady Cleaning, uses Shaklee Corp.’s plant-based, toxin-free cleaning products. This, he said, sets it apart from its competitors.

Daimer’s Eco-Green Concrete Sealer – Green Concrete Sealer Protects without Toxic Chemicals

A new Eco-Green® product forms a protective coating on porous concrete and repels dirt, water, grease, salt and more.

Online PR News – 17-September-2010 – WOBURN, MA USA – September 17, 2010 – Daimer Industries Inc.®, an established supplier of green cleaning equipment and chemicals for stone surfaces, is shipping Eco-Green® brand concrete sealer, an earth-safe formulation that protects concrete surfaces from environmental water, grease, oil, stains, road salt and other substances.

“This new concrete sealer uses an environmentally-sound microchemistry to repel stains and protect surfaces in the busiest settings,” explained Daimer.com’s stone chemicals spokesperson Matthew Baratta. “The formulation employs the identical chemical engineering we use in each of our solutions in the Eco-Green® green product line.”

Concrete Sealer with Green Chemicals
“This new concrete sealer uses an environmentally-sound microchemistry to repel stains and protect surfaces in the busiest settings,”

Concrete Sealer prevents stains, grease, salt, rust, oil, residues and other substances from penetrating porous concrete. The product creates a chemical shield that can be applied to a variety of concrete surfaces, such as pavers, flooring, driveways, sidewalks, parking structures and lots, as well as other surfaces.

The formula was designed to be environmentally safe and avoid risks presented by toxic concrete sealer products. The sealer has also been designed to biodegrade quickly and completely. The new green sealer has a proven safety record and, like other Eco Green chemicals, it exhibits zeros in the NFPA’s safety diamond ratings.

A single gallon of this highly concentrated formula creates nearly 10 gallons of finished concrete sealer. Daimer® offers the product in containers as small as two gallons and as large as 5000 gallons.

Other Green Concrete Formulations

In addition to the concrete sealer, Daimer® also offers a green concrete cleaner with rust remover.

Sandusky (USA) considers installing nation’s first ‘natural’ swimming pool

Sandusky once built America’s first wave-action pool. It may now build the country’s first “natural” swimming pool to replace it.

About 10 city and county officials listened to a presentation this week from BioNova, a New Jersey company that builds natural swimming pools in Europe. The eco-friendly pools are cleaned by plants and low-energy filtration systems instead of using chemicals like chlorine.

Nail Polishes that are Safe to You and the Environment

When nail polishes first hit the market in the 1920’s, they followed the technology of car paint manufacturers and filled their bottles with chemicals. The toxic chemicals offered long lasting results to the end user, but posed a threat to safety. Suspected carcinogens such as toluene and formaldehyde were found in most bottles. Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), a commonly used plasticizer, also was used in most nail polishes and printing inks!

But fear not! There are several nail polish companies that have phased out these potentially harmful ingredients or vowed not to use them at all!
